Visiting the Museum

Opening Hours

The Israel Railway Museum is open Sundays - Thursdays, except holydays and eve of holydays, from 08:00-16:00.

 

Admission

A fee is charged for admission to the Museum, payable by cheque or credit card.

 

Groups of at-least 25 participants which pre-book their visit 48 hours or more in advance will receive a discount - detailed in the table below - and will be eligible for a guided tour. Such groups can pay in cash or with a personal cheque (in New Israeli Shekels only).

 

There are currently no guided tours to visitors other than pre-arranged groups.

 * Wedding photos: Couples wishing to have their wedding photographs taken at the Railway Museum are kindly requested to coordinate their arrival beforehand and arrive on the premises sufficiently in advance of the closing time; payment of entrance fees will be required for admittance of  persons accompanying the couple and members of the photographers’ team.

 

Getting here

The Museum's address is Hativat Golani St. 1, Haifa. Please note this address is applicable only to visitors arriving by foot or by public transportation. Visitors arriving by car will find the entrance to the Museum's driveway at the junction of HaMelacha and Hiram streets.

 

Arriving by public transportation:
From the Haifa Bay area or from Hamifratz C.B.S. – Bus routes 1 and 2 (Matronit) to Hatachanot Hagdolot stop.
From Newe Shaanan - Bus route 17 (Egged) to Mechlaf Hiram stop.
(From the above-mentioned bus stops, continue c. 250m by foot to reach the entrance).

From Haifa Center-Hashmona railway station and from Downtown Haifa - Bus routes 1 and 2 (Matronit) to Wadi Salib stop.
(From Wadi Salib  bus stop, cross the road at the nearby traffic lights and follow the adjacent descending road to Hativat Golani St. where you will find a traffic light with a pedestrian crossing, after which turn left and continue c. 150m to reach the entrance)

 

Arriving by Car:
From the south: proceed along HaAtsmaut Way from the lower city area towards the Checkpost as far as Pal-Yam Blvd., turn left on to Highway 22 following the signposts for Akko. Take the first exit to the right from Highway 22 following the signposts for Shemen Beach and immediately turn right again into Hamelacha St; keep going as far as the roundabout beneath the bridge carrying Highway 22, to the left of which you will see the entrance gate to the Museum access road. Continue to the the car park at the end of the access road by the main Museum entrance.
 

From the north or east: proceed along Highway 22 towards Haifa. Leave by the last exit to the right following the signposts towards Hiram and turn left immediately towards the roundabout beneath the bridge carrying Highway 22, to the left of which you will see the entrance gate to the Museum access road. Continue to the the car park at the end of the access road by the main Museum entrance.
