Who is entitled to a discount? 
 


Disabled persons
: Are entitled to a 10% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey on intercity lines. To obtain this discount one must present a Disabled Persons Card, a card designating one is a member the Service Disabled Veterans organization or a card designating one is a Victim of Terror Attack.

Students: Are entitled to a 10% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey on intercity lines. To obtain this discount one must present a Student Card from one of the recognized institutes of higher education.

Children up to the age of 10: Are entitled to a 20% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey on intercity lines.

Pupils traveling to or from school: Are entitled to a 50% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey to or from school on intercity lines. This discount is granted on the condition that one has filled out the appropriate form and is subject to authorization by the Israel Railways.

A blind person's escort: Is entitled to a 50% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey on intercity lines. This discount is granted for one escort for each blind person.

Senior citizens: Israeli residents Are entitled to a 50% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey on all train lines. To obtain this discount one must present a Senior Citizen's Card or an ID card. For more information on senior citizens' entitlements, click here.

Organized groups: Groups of 20 or more passengers. Group members are entitled to a 50% (percent) discount on the full price of a journey on intercity lines. For more details and information on group entitlements, click here.

All passengers: On the purchase of a round trip ticket, multiple journey tickets, periodic tickets.


Please note! There are no multiple discounts!
Except for senior citizens who are entitled to a double discount on monthly free ride, weekly free ride and off-peak tickets.

 

Who can travel free of charge? 
 


Children under the age of 5:
Are entitled to travel free of charge when escorted by a passenger with a valid ticket. This exemption is allowed for one child per passenger.

National Service, Yearly Service and  Shalat Volunteers: Are entitled to travel free of charge upon presenting a valid volunteer certificate for one of the authorized associations or upon presenting a valid Shalat card.

Soldiers/ Police/ Prison Guards: Travel free of charge for soldiers, police and prison guards is in accordance to agreements with the Ministry of Defense, Israel Police and the Prison Service and pursuant to specific directives in these agreements.

Please note!
For passengers who are using a magnetic card (soldiers, police and prison guards), a ticket is obtained by swiping the valid magnetic card at an automatic ticket machine or at the ticket cashier.

 

How will I know if a line is an intercity line? 
 


The definitions of suburban, city and intercity lines have been defined in the regulations. There is a finalized list of suburban and city lines.

City lines:
Travel on a city line is travel between the following stations:

Haifa
Tel Aviv
Krayot
Lod
Beer Sheva
Modi'in
Petach Tikva

Intercity lines:
The definition of intercity lines are those outstanding (in other words, any course of travel that is not a suburban or a city course).
