Israel Railways makes a strong effort and invests heavily to provide equal, respectable, accessible, and professional service to all its customers. Pursuant to the Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the regulations derived by virtue therefrom, considerable effort and resources are invested in making the required adjustments so that a disabled person can equally and independently receive the services provided to all customers.

Website accessibility

An accessible website is a site that enables people with disabilities and the elderly to use at the efficiency and ease of all users. A 2003 study by Microsoft found that 20-25% of the population has difficulty using the internet, and may benefit from more accessible websites.

Israel Railways believes in and works for people with different disabilities and people who use technological aids to have equal opportunities on the internet.

Information about the website accessibility

  • This website conforms to the requirements of the Equal Rights for People with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.
  • The accessibility adjustments were executed per the recommendations of Israeli Standard SI 5568 – AA-level website content accessibility, and the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 
  • The tests were examined at the highest conformity for a Chrome browser.
  • The website provides a semantic structure for accepted print aid and support technologies to operate a keyboard by using the arrows, Enter, and Esc keys to exit menus and windows.
  • It is adjusted to the displays of common browsers and mobile phone use.
