To plan your trip –

Places worth visiting in Emek HaMa'ayanot (Valley of Springs):

Bet She'an Park and a picnic on the banks of the Harod Stream

You've boarded the train to Bet She'an? A new hiking trail, accessible to those on foot and riding bikes, will take you on a fun walk along the new promenade that leads to Bet She'an Park, just a few minutes' walk from the station. Along the path there are plenty of shady places to sit, surrounded by trees and lighting. The path meanders along the eastern bank of the Harod Stream with places to sit and relax and watch the birds under the decorative lighting. The stream, which was rehabilitated at a cost of five million shekels is really beautiful, with lush, natural vegetation and is visited by many different birds. And if we're mentioning the train… During the festival we are adding extra trains in the evening for visitors.

Fountains and Relaxation – the Eucalyptus Park

Well maintained picnic areas invite visitors to stop for a snack surrounded by nature and then, carry on to the Eucalyptus Park. This is a unique and breathtaking park of eucalyptus trees that spreads over 25 acres between Bet She'an's two central neighborhoods. The park has playgrounds with the very best play equipment for the kids, trails for those on foot and those riding bikes, unique water features, shaded areas, places to sit and much more. The park is accessible to the disabled and prams. From 17:00, every hour, on the hour, there is a fabulous water show with music and light. The fountain itself includes 105 different water jets.

Bet She'an's Big Summer Festival – Skate-O-Market

During the months of July and August, every Thursday evening, the Old City will overflow with all the good things the city has to offer: food stalls serving a huge variety of ethnic foods (gluten free as well), food that children love, local artists who will display the creations they worked on over the past year, beautiful and attractive jewelry and creative activities and inflatables for the children.

Street performances wait for you on every corner. Makeup artists will paint the faces of visiting families. Throughout the area, great DJ's will be playing their music and every night there'll be a different, mind blowing show: a Latin Fiesta with Lelah Makkos, the fun filled music of Israel with Shula Hen and Gabi Berlin, the Overtone group who'll bring back the Beatles for another show in the valley and an authentic eastern "hafla" (celebration) with the "Sfatayim" band. Throughout the festival you'll be able to enjoy the the boutique beers and cider that will top-off the celebrations.  Entry free!

A Night Visit to Skitopolice! Bet She'an's National Park – an Amazing Audio-Visual Presentation of Antiquities and Hills

"She'an Nights" – an amazing audio-visual presentation projected onto the antiquities and remains of the ancient Roman city that stood here thousands of years ago – Skitopolice. Visitors to the national park will watch the city's story unfold and then set out on a evening's guided tour of the park which includes walking down the ancient city's illuminated, stone paved streets and a visit to the Roman baths where they will learn about the bathing and recreational habits of the time that where for men only.  They will also learn about the technologies used to create a real steam sauna, without electricity and without the aid of a modern boiler. "She'an Nights" is the first project in the world which lights up and brings to life an archaeological site underneath the night sky. The presentation takes place in the evening from Monday through Thursday.
