Changes in the rail service at Be’er Sheva Area, 30.7.21 & 6-7.8.21

As part of the annual railway track maintenance plan, for the purpose of improving the train service and improving safety, work will be carried out to upgrade the track along the section of track between the Kiryat Gat, Lehavim - Rahat and Be’er Sheva stations. Due to this, there will be temporary changes in train traffic in the area, on the following dates:

  • Thursday, July 29, 2021 starting at 23:00 at night, as well as during all hours of operation on Friday, July 30, 2021
  • Thursday, August 5, 2021, starting at: 22:00 in the evening and during all hours of activity on Friday, August 6, 2021 and on Saturday evening, August 7, 2021.

The details of the changes are as follows:


  • Trains on the Be'er Sheva - Herzliya line (that go through the stations of Lod, Kiryat Gat, Lehavim - Rahat, etc.) will run between the Herzliya and Kiryat Gat stations only. There will be no rail service between the Kiryat Gat, Lehavim - Rahat and Be’er Sheva stations. 
  • At these times, a free of charge shuttle system will be operated between Kiryat Gat and Be’er Sheva - Center stations (with a stop at Lehavim - Rahat station depending on demand). Regular bus lines 370 and 380 will operate frequently between Be’er Sheva and Tel Aviv.

Thursday, 5.8.21:
From the Kiryat Gat station to the Beer Sheva Center station: 22:10, 23:10, 00:10
From the Beer Sheva Center station to the Kiryat Gat station: 22:30


Friday, 6.8.21:
From the Kiryat Gat station to the Beer Sheva Center station: 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00
From the Beer Sheva Center station to the Kiryat Gat station: 04:50, 05:50, 06:50, 07:50, 08:50, 09:50, 10:50, 11:50

Saturday night, 7.8.21:
From the Kiryat Gat station to the Beer Sheva Center station: 22:00, 23:00, 24:00
From the Beer Sheva Center station to the Kiryat Gat station: 20:45, 21:45, 22:45


  • Train traffic will return to normal on Saturday evening, July 31, 2021, with the resumption of service. The following week, train traffic will return to normal on Sunday, August 8, 2021, with the resumption of service.

  • You are advised to check the up-to-date journey times in the journey planner, in the app, or by calling the customer service hotline at *5770, before going to the station.
  • Wearing a mask on the train and in enclosed spaces inside the train stations is mandatory. Passengers are obligated to wear a mask and maintain social distancing throughout the journey.



    Compensation during the closure
    Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

    Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
    • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
    • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
    • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
