Temporary Changes in train traffic in the Tel Aviv and Lod Areas, 29.8.21 - 5.9.21

Dear passengers, 
Due to work being carried out to separate a level crossing, which will allow the closure of the level crossing and will lead to improved train service and increased travel safety, there will be temporary changes in train traffic in the Tel Aviv and Lod areas, from Sunday, August 29, 2021 to Sunday, September 5, 2021. 

From Sunday to Thursday, August 29, 2021 - September 2, 2021, train traffic will be suspended every evening at 21:00 between the Tel Aviv - HaHagana and Lod stations: 


  • Trains on the Be’er Sheva to Tel Aviv - Savidor Center line will operate between the Be’er Sheva and Lod stations only.
  • Trains on the Bet Shemesh to Tel Aviv - Savidor Center line will operate between the Bet Shemesh and Lod stations only
  • Train traffic on these lines will revert to normal every morning with the resumption of service.

On Friday, September 3, 2021 and Saturday evening, September 4, 2021 during all hours of operation:

  • Trains on the Be’er Sheva to Hertsliya line will operate between the Be’er Sheva and Lod stations only.
  • Trains on the Bet Shemesh to Tel Aviv - Savidor Center line will operate between the Bet Shemesh and Lod stations only
  • On Saturday, September 4, 21, the Herzliya - Yitzhak Navon line - no trains will operate.

  • During the period of construction, a free of charge shuttle service will be operated between the Lod and Tel Aviv - Savidor Center stations, in both directions.

    Sunday to Thursday, August 29, 2021 - September 2, 2021
    From the Lod Station to the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station: 21:10, 21:30, 22:10, 22:30, 23:10, 00:10

    From the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station to the Lod Station: 20:30, 21:30, 22:30, 23:00, 23:30

    Friday, September 3, 2021
    From the Lod Station to the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station: 06:30, 07:00, 07:30, 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00

    From the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station to the Lod Station: 06:00, 06:30, 07:00, 07:30, 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00

    Saturday Evening, September 4, 2021
    From the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station to the Lod Station: 21:00, 21:30, 22:00, 22:30, 23:10

    From the Lod Station to the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station: 22:00, 22:30, 23:00, 23:30


  • Train traffic will revert to normal on Sunday, September 5, 2021, with the resumption of service.


  • It is recommended to remain updated with respect to trip times through the trip route planning option on the app and at the Railways telephone hotline on: *5770, before arriving at the stations.
  • Details regarding the bolstering of regular public transport lines can be obtained at the Ministry of Transport’s telephone hotline on: *8787.
  • It is mandatory to wear a mask inside the trains and in enclosed spaces at the train stations. Passengers are required to wear a mask throughout the journey and to maintain social distancing.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
