Temporary Changes in Train Traffic in the Karmiel and Ahihud Area

Dear Passengers,
D Due to essential work for the development and upgrade of the signaling system in the Haifa area, the Karmiel and Ahihud stations will be temporarily closed on Fridays and Saturdays only, in May, on the following dates:
  • Friday and Saturday evening, May 27-28, 2022.

We will operate a free transportation service between Karmiel - Ahihud – HaMifrats Central Station (in both directions).


The following are the hours of free transportation between Karmiel - Ahihud - HaMifrats Central Station:

Friday, May 27, 2022:
From Karmiel Station, through Ahihud Station, to Haifa HaMifrats Central Station: 05:30 to 13:30, every hour: xx:30
From Haifa HaMifrats Central Station, through Ahihud Station, to Karmiel Station: 06:30 to 13:30, every hour: xx:30

Saturday evening: May 28, 2022:
From Karmiel Station, through Ahihud Station, to Haifa HaMifrats Central Station: 21:30 to 23:30, every hour: xx:30
From Haifa HaMifrats Central Station, through Ahihud Station, to Karmiel Station: 21:30 to 23:30, every hour: xx:30

Keep in mind, during these times there are further changes in train traffic in the Haifa area, the Haifa Hof HaKarmel, Haifa Bat Galim and Haifa Center HaShmona stations are temporarily closed to service, and free transportation is operated between these stations.

In view of the entry into force of the "Derech Shava" reform, as of August 1, 2022, and the cancellation of the "Flexible 7" and "Flexible 30" periodic travel arrangements, the compensation arrangement for closing a section of track which was in effect until now is cancelled.
A new compensation arrangement is currently being formulated by the Ministry of Transportation and will be published soon. The new arrangement that will be published will apply retroactively as of August 1, 2022.
