Temporary Changes in Train Traffic in the Tel Aviv and Center Area

As part of the annual track maintenance plan, infrastructure works to be carried out at Tel Aviv Savidor Center station will be brought forward, and temporary changes in train traffic in the Tel Aviv area will apply, starting on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 22:00 until the end of operations on Thursday, February 10, 2022. The works will be carried out for the purpose of improving the railway service and improving safety, as well as carrying out a rail project aimed at improving the service by reducing the gap between the train and the platform.

The changes are as follows:

Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 22:00 and until the end of activity:

  • Tel Aviv HaShalom, Tel Aviv Savidor Center, and Tel Aviv University will be closed to service, and it will not be possible to board / descend at these stations.
  • A free shuttle service will be operated between the closed stations.
    • From Tel Aviv HaHagana station (Tel Aviv HaShalom and Tel Aviv Savidor Center stations - descent only) to Herzliya station at: 21:00 - 01:00 (every 30 minutes)
    • From Herzliya station (Tel Aviv HaShalom and Tel Aviv Savidor Center stations - descent only) to Tel Aviv HaHagana station at: 21:00 - 23:30 (every 30 minutes)
    • From Tel Aviv HaHagana station (Tel Aviv HaShalom and Tel Aviv Savidor Central stations - descent only) to Bne Brak station at: 21:00 - 01:00 (every 30 minutes)

Thursday, February 2, 2022, between 5:00 - 22:00:

  • On this day, between 05:00 - 22:00, it will be possible to travel to the Tel Aviv stations, however, some of the lines will require changing trains. In addition, a free shuttle service will be operated between Tel Aviv and Herzliya stations, and regular bus lines in the area will be reinforced.
  • After 22:00, Tel Aviv HaShalom, Tel Aviv Savidor Center and Tel Aviv University stations will be closed to service.
  • Trains on the Be’er Sheva - Netanya line and trains on the Beit Shemesh - Netanya line will operate normally and will stop at all stations, including the Tel Aviv stations.

  • Between Ashkelon / Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan and Tel Aviv HaHagana stations
  • Between Herzliya and Bnei Brak stations

Passengers from Petah Tikva, Rosh HaAyin North, Kfar Sava Nordau and Ra’anana stations traveling to the Tel Aviv stations or destinations south of them can change trains at the Herzliya station.


  • During all hours of operation on Thursday, February 10, 2022, free shuttles will be operated:

    • From Tel Aviv HaHagana station (Tel Aviv HaShalom and Tel Aviv Savidor Center stations - descent only) to Herzliya station at: 06:15 - 00:45 (every 30 minutes).
    • From Herzliya station (Tel Aviv HaShalom stations - descent only) to Tel Aviv HaHagana station at: 05:45 - 23:45 (every 30 minutes).
    • From Tel Aviv Savidor Center Station to Herzliya station at: 05:45 - 23:15 (every 30 minutes).
    • From Herzliya station to Tel Aviv Savidor Center station at: 05:45 - 23:45 (every 30 minutes).
    • From Tel Aviv University Station to Bne Brak Station at: 06:10 - 23:10 (every 30 minutes).
    • From Bne Brak station to Tel Aviv University station at: 05:40 - 23:10 (every 30 minutes).

  • The Ministry of Transport will reinforce the following regular bus lines:
    • Line 900 Haifa - Tel Aviv direct will operate 2 trips per hour during the day and with an increased frequency during peak hours.
    • Lines 370 and 380 Be’er Sheva - Tel Aviv will be reinforced throughout the day.
    • Line 910 Haifa - Tel Aviv stopping train will be reinforced to 2 trips per hour throughout the day.

Train traffic will return to normal on Friday, February 11, 2022 with the resumption of service.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
