Changes in train traffic - Tel Aviv and Lod – 26-28.8.21



Dear passengers, as part of the annual track maintenance program, work will be carried out to upgrade the track along the section of track between the Tel Aviv HaHagana and Lod stations (near Ganot). As a result, there will be temporary changes in train traffic commencing on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at: 21:00 and during all hours of train operation on Friday, August 27, 2021, and on Saturday evening, August 28, 2021.

Following are the details of the changes:

  • Trains on the Beit Shemesh – Tel Aviv - Savidor Center line – will operate between the Beit Shemesh and Lod stations only.
  • Trains on the Be’er Sheva – Tel Aviv - Savidor Center / Herzliya line – will operate between the Be’er Sheva and Lod stations only.
  • Trains on the Nahariya – Ben Gurion Airport line – will operate between the Nahariya and Tel Aviv - HaHagana stations only.
  • On Saturday evening, August 28, 2021 – Trains on the Jerusalem - Yitzhak Navon – Hertsliya line – will not operate.
  • On the days and at the times that work is being carried out, a free of charge shuttle service will be available between the Lod and Tel Aviv - Savidor Center stations (in both directions) and between the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center and Ben Gurion Airport stations.

  • Train traffic will return to normal operation on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 05:00


  • It is recommended to remain updated with respect to trip times through the trip route planning option on the app and at the Railways telephone hotline on: *5770, before arriving at the stations.
  • Details regarding the bolstering of regular public transport lines can be obtained at the Ministry of Transport’s telephone hotline on: *8787.
  • It is mandatory to wear a mask inside the trains and in enclosed spaces at the train stations. Passengers are required to wear a mask throughout the journey and to maintain social distancing.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
