Temporary Changes in Train Traffic in the Tel Aviv and HaSharon Area

Dear Passengers, please note:
Prior to the operation of another electricity line, between the Netanya, Tel Aviv, Lod and Rehovot stations, work will be carried out to connect the railroad segment between the Netanya and Herzliya stations to the Railway electricity network.
Due to the works, which require temporary disconnection of electricity in extensive segments in the HaSharon, Herzliya and Tel Aviv areas, changes in train traffic will apply, between Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 21:00 and Saturday evening, June 26, 2022, during all operating hours (inclusive), as well as between Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 21:00 and Saturday evening, July 2, 2022, during all hours of operation (inclusive).

The changes in these days and hours are as follows:

  • The Herzliya station will be temporarily closed.
  • Trains on the Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon - Herzliya line will begin and end their journey at the Tel Aviv Savidor Center station and will not stop at the Tel Aviv University and Herzliya stations.
  • Trains on the Be’er Sheva - Herzliya line - will begin and end their journey at the Tel Aviv Savidor Center station and will not stop at the Tel Aviv University and Herzliya stations.
  • Trains on the Ashkelon - Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan - Tel Aviv - Herzliya line, which are electricity-operated, will currently be operated by diesel trains, which will begin and end their journey at the Ra’anana West station and will not stop at the Herzliya station. Depending on the route of travel and the desired departure and destination stations, passengers may be required to change trains on this line. Changing trains will take place at the Tel Aviv Savidor Center station.

The following trains will not be operated:

  • Train number 133, which departs every Thursday from the Nahariya station at 20:49 and ends its journey at the Modi’in station at 23:06.
  • Train number 135, which departs every Thursday from the Nahariya station at 21:49 and ends its journey at the Ben Gurion Airport station at 23:45.

  • The following are the free shuttle service operation hours:

Thursdays, June 23, 2022 and June 30, 2022:

From the Haifa Hof HaKarmel station to the Tel Aviv Savidor Center station at: 21:40, 22:40

From the Haifa Hof HaKarmel station to the Ben Gurion Airport station at: 21:40, 22:40


Train traffic will return to normal every Sunday, upon the resumption of service.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
