Temporary changes in train traffic in the Lod and Tel Aviv areas.


As part of the railway track electrification work, Israel Railways will carry out work to establish and connect up a railways transformer substation in the vicinity of the Tel Aviv - HaHagana train station, on Friday October 15, 2021 and on Saturday evening October 16, 2021. As a result, the following changes in train traffic will take effect:


  • Trains on the Be’er Sheva – Hertsliya line – will operate between the Be’er Sheva and Lod stations only, and will not continue their trips to the Tel Aviv and Hertsliya stations.
  • Trains on the Bet Shemesh – Tel Aviv - Savidor Center line – will operate between the Bet Shemesh and Lod stations only and will not continue their trips to the Tel Aviv stations. 
  • Trains on the Jerusalem - Yitzhak Navon – Hertsliya line (operated every Saturday evening) – will operate between the Jerusalem - Yitzhak Navon and Ben Gurion Airport station only and will not continue their trips to the Tel Aviv Stations. 

Israel Railways will operate a shuttle service between the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center and Lod stations (on Friday and on Saturday evening) as well as between the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center and Ben Gurion Airport stations (on Saturday evening only). 
 
Following are details of the Shuttle Service:

Friday October 15, 2021
From the Lod Station to the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station: 06:30 - 14:00 (every half hour).
From the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station to the Lod Station: 6:00 - 12:00 (every half hour).

Saturday evening October 16, 2021
From the Lod Station to the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station: 21:20, 22:20, 23:20
From the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station to the Lod Station: 21:20, 22:20, 23:20

From the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center Station to the Ben Gurion Airport Station: 21:35, 22:35
From the Ben Gurion Airport Station to the Tel Aviv Savidor Center Station: 21:45, 22:45.

Train traffic will revert to normal on Sunday October 17, 2021 upon the resumption of service. 


  • It is recommended to remain updated regarding trip times, at the Journey Planner
  • Details about the bolstering of regular public transport lines can be obtained at the Ministry of Transport hotline on Tel: *8787.
  • It is mandatory to wear a mask inside the trains and in closed spaces at the train stations. Passengers are required to wear a mask throughout the journey and to practice social distancing.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
