Compensation during the closure
The track infrastructure requires regular maintenance, which sometimes requires temporarily closing a track section. If you have a 30-day or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of the temporary closure of a track section, about which Israel Railways has not notified on its website or at the stations seven days before the date you purchased the ticket, you may be eligible for an extension to use the ticket, based on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • Holders of any kind of multiuse student ticket are not eligible for compensation for closure of a track section
  • If Israel Railways has notified the closure of a track section on its website or at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of a 7-day flexible Rav Kav will be eligible to extend its use
  • If Israel Railways has notified the closure of a track section on its website or at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of a 30-day flexible Rav Kav will be eligible to extend its use
