Changes in train schedules on Monday-Thursday at night and on Friday during operating hours

Israel Railways is carrying out work to build an electric train network, which will enable us to improve service for our customers and operate fast, quiet, and environmentally-friendly electric trains. For this purpose, from 23 January 2020 until further notice, there will be changes in the nighttime train schedules from 22:30 until 04:30 on Monday-Thursday and throughout the operating day on Friday.

Monday-Thursday, 22:30-04:30
  • Trains will operate north of the Herzliya Station
  • Trains will operate south of the Lod Station
  • Service on the Ra'anana-Beer Sheva line will operation north of the Bnei Brak Station and south of the Tel Aviv Hahagana Station
  • The following stations will be closed: Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv Savidor Central, Tel Aviv Hashalom, Modiin Central, Pa'ate Modiin, Kfar Habad, and Lod Ganei Aviv
  • Nighttime train service on the Nahariya line will begin/end at the Herzliya Station
  • Nighttime train service between Beer Sheva and Ben Gurion Airport will operate normally
Attention, in addition to the changes mentioned above, from 00:01 on the night of Thursday, 23 January 2020 and Friday, 24 January 2020 until 04:00 on Sunday 26 January 2020 the Ben Gurion Airport Station will also be closed and the Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon Station will be closed on Saturday night.

Fridays
  • Trains will operate north of the Herzliya Station
  • Trains will operate south of the Lod Station
  • Service on the Ra'anana-Beer Sheva line will operation north of the Bnei Brak Station and south of the Tel Aviv Hahagana Station
  • The following stations will be closed: Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv Savidor Central, Tel Aviv Hashalom, Modiin Central, Pa'ate Modiin, Kfar Habad, and Lod Ganei Aviv
  • Special trains will operate in both directions between the Akko and Lod stations. The trains will stop at the following stations: Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, Hamifratz Central, Haifa Central Hashmona, Haifa Bat Galim, Haifa Hof Hacarmel, Binyamina, Caesarea-Pardess Hanna, Hadera West, Netanya, Beit Yehoshua, Hod Hasharon-Sokolov, Rosh Ha'ayin North

The trains will operate on a special schedule every two hours in both directions
  • From the Akko Station – the first train will depart at 06:44 and the last train will depart at 12:44
  • From the Lod Station - the first train will depart at 07:33 and the last train will depart at 11:33
  • Another train will depart from the Lod Station at 13:33 and terminate its journey at the Haifa Central Hashmona Station (it will not continue to Akko)
Free alternative shuttle services will be available to use, per the schedules below, or on the fill up-and-go method (whichever is sooner)

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
