Special schedule for the High Holidays

During the High Holidays, from Sunday, 29 September 2019 through Tuesday, 22 October 2019, railway service will operate under a special schedule.

Below are the main changes:

Rosh Hashana
  • Sunday, 29 September 2019 (Rosh Hashana eve) – trains will operate on the Friday schedule and will include track electrification work
  • Monday, 30 September 2019 – no train service
  • Tuesday, 1 October 2019 – trains will operate on the Saturday night schedule 

Yom Kippur
  • Tuesday, 8 October 2019 (Yom Kippur eve) – trains will operate on a special schedule until around 13:00
  • Wednesday, 9 October 2019 – trains will not operate, except for the train departing at 23:13 from the Nahariya Station to the Ben Gurion Airport Station, and the train departing at 23:51 from the Beer Sheva Central Station to Tel Aviv Hahagana Station


Sukkot and Simhat Torah
  • Sunday, 13 October 2019 (Sukkot eve) – trains will operate on the Friday schedule and will include track electrification work 
  • Monday, 14 October 2019 (Sukkot) – trains will operate on the Saturday night schedule
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 15-17 October 2019 (Sukkot holiday) – trains will operate normally
  • Sunday, 20 October 2019 (Simhat Torah eve) - trains will operate on the Friday schedule and will include track electrification work 
  • Monday, 21 October 2019 (Simhat Todah) – trains will operate on the Saturday night schedule

On 15-17 October 2019 and on 22 October 2019, train service on the Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem line will be increased to once an hour. A stop will be added at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo Station.
