Temporary suspension of train traffic on the Bnei Brak-Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv Savidor Central-Tel Aviv Hahagana, and Tel Aviv-Hahagana-Lod sections due to track work

From 22:00 on Thursday, 30 May 2019 through 04:30 on Sunday, 2 June 2019

The following changes will apply because of the closings:

Thursday, 30 May 2019
  • The Ra'anana-Beer Sheva Central line: from 21:32 through the end of service
     - Northern section – train service will operate between the Ra'anana West and Bnei Brak stations in both directions.
     - Southern section – train service will operate between the Beer Sheva Central and Tel Aviv Hahagana stations in both directions.

  • The train departing at 21:53 from the Beer Sheva Central to the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station will terminate its journey at the Lod Station.
  • The train departing at 23:07 from the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station to the Beer Sheva Central Station will begin its journey from the Lod Station at 23:27.
  • Modiin-Nahariya line: the northbound train departing at 23:18 from the Modiin Central Station will terminate its journey at the Tel Aviv Hahagana Station. A special train will operate at 23:48 from the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station to the Nahariya Station.

Friday, 31 May 2019
  • Trains between the Ra'anana West Station and the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station will operate to and from the Bnei Brak Station.
Due to track electrification work, the following changes will apply on the Tel Aviv Hahagana-Lod and Tel Aviv Hahagana-Modiin sections:
  • The Nahariya-Beer Sheva Central line (via Kiryat Gat)
     - Northern section – train service will operate between the Nahariya Station and the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station in both directions
     - Southern section – train service will operate between the Beer Sheva Central Station and the Lod Station in both directions

  • The Nahariya-Modiin line
     - Northern section – train service will operate between the Nahariya Station and the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station in both directions
     - Southern section – train service will not operate 

  • The Ashkelon-Binyamina line (via Rehovot)
     - Northern section – train service will operate between the Binyamina Station and the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station in both directions
     - Southern section – train service will operate between the Ashkelon Station and the Lod Station in both directions

  • The Beer Sheva Central-Tel Aviv line: train service will operate between the Beer Sheva Central Station and the Lod Station in both directions
  • The following stations will be closed: Lod Gabi Aviv, Kfar Habad, Tel Aviv Hashalom, Modiin Central, Paatei Modiin, and Ben Gurion Airport
  • The special train service between the Lod Station and the Haifa Central Hashmona Station via Petah Tikva and Bnei Brak will be cancelled

Saturday night, 1 June 2019
  • The Ashkelon-Rehovot-Binyamina, the Beer Sheva Central-Nahariya, and the Modiin Nahariya lines
     - Northern section – trains will begin and terminate their journeys at the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station
     - Southern section – trains will begin and terminate their journeys at the Tel Aviv Hahagana Station

  • The Ra'anana West-Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan/Beer Sheva Central line
     - Northern section – trains will begin and terminate their journeys at the Bnei Brak Station
     - Southern section – trains will begin and terminate their journeys at the Tel Aviv Hahagana Station 

  • The Nahariya-Ben Gurion Airport line (including the night line)
     - Train service will operate between the Nahariya Station and the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station in both directions
  • The Jerusalem Malha-Beit Shemesh-Tel Aviv line
     - Train service will operate between the Jerusalem Malha Station and the Lod Station in both directions

Saturday night-Sunday, 1-2 June 2019
  • The Nahariya-Ben Gurion Airport night train will operate between the Nahariya Station and the Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station. Train service on the line will resume at 03:13.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
