Changes in train traffic: Be’er Sheva, Beit Shemesh and the South


As part of the annual development plan, works planned for the rest of the year will be brought forward and some of the tracks in the Lod area will be closed to train traffic. Due to this, there will be temporary changes in train traffic in the area of Be’er Sheva, Beit Shemesh and the South on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 and on Thursday, February 24, 2022:


  • Trains on the Netanya - Beit Shemesh line - will be operated between Netanya and Tel Aviv HaHagana stations only.
  • Beit Shemesh station will be temporarily closed to service, and the regular bus lines in the area will be reinforced.
  • Trains on the Nahariya – Be’er Sheva line - will be operated between Nahariya and Tel Aviv HaHagana stations only.
  • Kiryat Malachi Yoav, Mazkeret Batya, Ramla stations - will be operated temporarily only during low tide and not in the morning and evening. Free shuttles will be operated between these stations during some of the operating hours.

The hours of operation of the shuttle service are as follows:
Wednesday, February 23, 2022:
From Lod station to Mazkeret Batya station at: 07:35, 08:35, 09:35, 10:35, 11:35, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40, 19:40, 20:40
From Mazkeret Batya station to Lod station at 05:30, 06:30, 07:30, 08:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30
From Lod station to Kiryat Malachi Yoav station at: 07:35, 08:35, 09:35, 10:35, 11:35, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40, 19:40, 20:40
From Kiryat Malachi Yoav station to Lod station at: 05:40, 06:40, 07:40, 08:40, 13:40, 14:40, 15:40, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40

Thursday, February 24, 2022:
From Lod station to Mazkeret Batya station at: 07:35, 08:35, 09:35, 10:35, 11:35, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40, 19:40, 20:40
From Mazkeret Batya station to Lod station at 05:30, 06:30, 07:30, 08:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30
From Lod station to Kiryat Malachi Yoav station at: 07:35, 08:35, 09:35, 10:35, 11:35, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40, 19:40, 20:40
From Kiryat Malachi Yoav station to Lod station at: 05:40, 06:40, 07:40, 08:40, 13:40, 14:40, 15:40, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40

  • Train frequency at the Be’er Sheva, Kiryat Gat and Lehavim Rahat stations will be temporarily decreased, and changes in the departure times of some of the trains will apply.

Train traffic will return to normal on Friday, February 25, 2022, upon the resumption of service.

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
