Changes in Evening Train Traffic in Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Lod & South

As part of the preparations and completion of the electrification work on the suburban line between Netanya, Tel Aviv, Lod and Rehovot stations and in preparation for its operation during the current year, starting on Saturday evening, July 9, 2022, in the coming weeks and only in the evening, changes will apply in the area of Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Lod and the south.

Changes in Train Traffic in the Area of Herzliya and Tel Aviv

  • Every Thursday from 21:00 (approximately) until the resumption of service on Sunday:
Herzliya station - will be temporarily closed for service
Trains on the Jerusalem line Yitzhak Navon - Herzliya line - will begin and end their journey at Tel Aviv Savidor Center station and will not stop at Tel Aviv University and Herzliya stations.
Trains on the Ashkelon / Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan - Tel Aviv - Herzliya line - will start and end their journey at Ra’anana West station and will not stop at Herzliya station.
A free shuttle service will operate between Tel Aviv Savidor Center and Herzliya stations and between Ra’anana West and Herzliya stations.

  • Every Friday and Saturday, trains on the Be’er Sheva - Herzliya line will begin and end their journey at Tel Aviv Savidor Center station and will not stop at Tel Aviv University and Herzliya stations.
  • Sundays to Thursdays, between 19:00 (approximately) and 21:00 (approximately), the frequency of trains between Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan and Herzliya stations will gradually decrease into two trains per hour, in each direction, instead of four trains.
  • Sundays to Thursdays, train No. 613, which departs daily at 5:18 and ends its journey at Ashkelon station, will start its journey at Ra’anana West station at 5:23.

Changes in Train Traffic in the Area of Lod and the South 

Due to the closure of the Lod station for the purpose of connecting it to the Railways’ electricity grid, the following changes will apply on Sundays to Thursdays:
  • Train No. 979, which departs daily from Netanya station at 19:50 and ends its journey at Be’er Sheva station, will end its journey at Tel Aviv HaHagana station and will not stop at: Kfar Chabad, Lod, Rehovot, Yavne East, Ashdod Ad Halom, Ashkelon, Sderot, Netivot, Ofakim, Be’er Sheva.
  • Train No. 47, which departs daily from Nahariya station at 18:28 and ends its journey in Be'er Sheva, will not stop at Lod, Ramla, Mazkeret Batya, Kiryat Malachi-Yoav, Kiryat Gat, Lehavim Rahat.
  • Train No. 50, which departs daily from Be’er Sheva Center Station at 19:42 and ends its journey at Tel Aviv Savidor Center Station, will begin its journey at 20:04 and will not stop at: Lehavim Rahat, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi Yoav, Mazkeret Batya, Ramla, Lod.
  • Train No. 275, which departs daily from Binyamina station at 19:07 and ends its journey in Lod, will not stop at Lod Gane Aviv station.
  • Train No. 277, which departs daily from Binyamina station at 19:37 and ends its journey at Kfar Chabad station, will end its journey at Tel Aviv HaHagana station and will not stop at Kfar Chabad station.
  • Train No. 177, which departs daily from Nahariya station at 18:15 and ends its journey at Modi'in Center station, will end its journey at Tel Aviv HaHagana station and will not stop at Ben Gurion Airport, Modi'in and Modi'in Center stations.

  • The following trains will not be operated:
Train No. 980, which departs daily from Be'er Sheva Center at 19:03 and ends its journey at Tel Aviv Savidor Center station.
Train No. 181, which departs daily from Herzliya station at 21:48 and ends its journey at Modi'in Center station.
Train No. 182, which departs daily from Modi'in Center station at 20:51 and ends its journey at Herzliya station.

  • Changes in the departure times of some of the trains will apply.


  • It is recommended to remain updated regarding trip times, at the Journey Planner



Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
