Extensive changes in train schedules 20-23 November 2019


Train service will be temporarily suspended on a number of sections, due to railway systems upgrade work:

  • Jerusalem-Beit Shemesh-Ramle (20-23.11.19)
  • Netanya-Herzliya (23.11.19)
  • Ashkelon-Ashdod (23.11.19)

Jerusalem Malha-Beit Shemesh (20-23.11.19)
  • Trains on the Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem Malha section will not operate
  • The Jerusalem Malha, Jerusalem Zoo, and Beit Shemesh stations will be closed
  • Free alternative transportation services will be available to you

On Saturday night, 23 November 2019, there will be extensive changes in train schedules, due to work on track sections nationwide.

Netanya-Herzliya (On Saturday night, 23 November 2019)

  • Trains in the northern section will start and terminate their journeys at the Haifa Hof Hacarmel Station and Netanya Section
  • Trains on the Binyamina-Rehovot-Ashkelon line will operate between Herzliya and Ashdod/Rehovot
  • The Netanya Sapir and Beit Yehoshua stations will be closed
  • Free alternative transportation services will be available to you

Ashkelon-Ashdod (On Saturday night, 23 November 2019)

  • Trains on the Beer Sheva Central-Ra'anana West line will operate in a divided format:
    • Ra'anana-Ashdod in both directions
    • Ashkelon-Beer Sheva Central in both direction
  • Night trains in the Beer Sheva Central-Tel Aviv Hahagana line will not operate
  • Free alternative transportation services will be available to you


Train service will resume at 05:00 on Sunday

Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
