Changes in train traffic in the evening and at night commencing on July 4, 2021

​Changes in train traffic in the evening and at night, between the Ashkelon – Rehovot – Lod stations and the Rishon LeTsiyon - HaRishonim and Lod stations

Due to the acceleration of the electrification work on the section of track between the Rehovot and Lod stations, from Sunday, July 4, 2021 and until further notice, there will be changes in train traffic at night (from 21:00 until the end of daily service). During these times, no trains will operate between the Lod – Rehovot – Ashkelon stations, as well as between the Lod and Rishon LeTsiyon - HaRishonim stations.

Following are details of the changes:

  • The route of train number 277, which departs from the Binyamina station at 19:34, will be shortened and it will terminate its journey at the Tel Aviv - HaHagana station at 20:32, instead of at the Rehovot station.

The following trains will not be operated:

  • Train number 982, which currently departs from the Ashkelon station at: 21:00 and terminates its journey at the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center station at: 22:08
  • Train number 284, which currently departs from the Rehovot station at 20:54 and terminates its journey at the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center station at 21:31
  • Train number 286, which currently departs from the Rehovot station at: 21:55 and terminates its journey at the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center station at: 22:31.
  • Train number 930, which currently departs from the Rishon LeTsiyon - HaRishonim station at 20:47 and terminates its journey at the Lod station at 20:56.
  • Train number 931, which currently departs from the Lod station at: 21:07 and terminates its journey at the Rishon LeTsiyon - HaRishonim station at: 21:15.

During the time that work is being carried out on the tracks, the shuttle system will be operated, free of charge:

  • Between the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center – Bet Yehoshu’a – Netanya – Binyamina stations (departure times: 22:30, 23:00).
  • Between the Binyamina and Tel Aviv - Savidor Center stations (departure times: 22:00, 23:00).
  • Between the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center – Rehovot – Ashdod stations (departure times: 20:40, 21:10, 21:40, 22:10).
  • Between the Rehovot – Tel Aviv - Savidor Center stations (departure times: 20:40, 21:10, 21:40, 22:10).
  • It is recommended to remain updated regarding full details, through the telephone hotline center on Tel: *5770

Additional changes for your information:

  • In response to passenger inquiries, an early morning train will be operated (number 699), which will depart from the Ashkelon station at 5:45 and will terminate its journey at the Be’er Sheva Center Station at 6:45. The train will stop at the Sderot, Netivot, Ofakim and Be’er Sheva - North / University stations.
  • There will be changes of several minutes in the departure times of the trains operating on the Tel Aviv - Savidor Center – Beit Shemesh line in the evening (approximately 21:00 - 22:00).
  • At the Ashkelon and Lod stations, changes will apply to the departure platforms for some of the trains in the evening (approximately 21:00 - 23:00).


  • You are advised to check the up-to-date journey times in the journey planner, in the app, or by calling the customer service hotline at *5770, before going to the station.
  • Wearing a mask on the train and in enclosed spaces inside the train stations is mandatory. Passengers are obligated to wear a mask and maintain social distancing throughout the journey.




Compensation during the closure
Tracks require regular maintenance, which sometimes requires the temporary closing of a rail section. If you have purchased a 30-day flexible Rav Kav or 7-day flexible Rav Kav, and you cannot travel because of a temporary closure of a track section, which was not announced on the Israel Railways website and in the stations seven days from the day the tickets were purchased, you be eligible for an extension of the use period of the ticket, depending on the type of ticket in your possession.

Pursuant to Ministry of Transport instructions:
  • The holders of student period tickets of any kind are not eligible for compensation for the closing of a track section.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 14 days before the start of the closure, holders of 7-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
  • If notification of the closing of a track section is announced on the website and at the stations 37 days before the start of the closure, holders of 30-day flexible Rav Kav will not be eligible for an extension.
