As part of the project to upgrade the station, which has been promoted for the past three years, components in service, accessibility and safety have been upgraded, renovated and renewed at dozens of stations nationwide. In the coming weeks, work will begin on the roofs of the Tel Aviv University station, which will be carried out in parallel with the project to extend the station’s platforms. As part of the works, the roofing of the platforms will be expanded to cover about 70 percent of the total area of the platforms, in order to improve the service experience even on hot sunny days and rainy winter days.
The project for the roofing and extension of the platforms at Tel Aviv University station is complex in terms of engineering, logistics and service. The station is located in the heart of Ayalon Highway, with few access roads, in a limited strip, where a number of engineering projects are carried out, such as: the fast lanes project, the construction of the light rail, the construction of another exit from the station to Rokach Boulevard, and other projects.
In order not to impair the regular service at the station, the works will be carried out at times when there is no train traffic at the station. Also, during the works, some of the waiting areas in the platform will be closed.
Expected completion of work: during 2023.
We thank you for your understanding and patience.
