About the station's name

Named after Moshe Dayan, 1915 - 1981
A military general, politician and Israeli personality. The fourth Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Force, a Member of the Knesset (parliament) and a Minister in various Israeli Governments. 

Dayan was appointed the fourth Chief of Staff of the IDF in December 1953 and successfully commanded the 1956 Sinai Campaign.
Dayan was elected to the Fifth Knesset in 1959 as a member of the Mapai (Israel Workers) Party and was appointed Minister of Agriculture. During the run up crisis to the Six Day War, he was appointed Minister of Defense and conducted the war to its successful conclusion. 

Dayan served as the Foreign Minister in the tenth Knesset, in the Government formed by Menachem Begin and was instrumental in arranging the visit of Anwar Saadat to Israel and in the peace talks with Egypt.
