Passengers exempt from payment

  • Legally blind.
  • Volunteer - conscripted soldier, student in a pre-military or semi-military preparatory school, national service volunteer, public service volunteer - upon presentation of a valid certificate.
  • Child up to the age of 5.

Passengers in special travel arrangements for the security forces

Soldiers (in uniform), police officers and prison service members travel in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Transportation.

*Regulation 10 of the Railways Regulations (Cost of Tickets) 5764 - 2004, stipulates that as of February 1, 2021, the age of eligibility for the “senior citizen” discount has been raised from 60 to 62 years of age for women and from 65 to 67 years of age for men.
According to the directives of the Ministry of Transportation, the “senior citizen” profile, which was uploaded to the “Rav-Kav” card prior to the stipulated date, will continue to be valid and train tickets purchased with the “senior citizen” discount, before the stipulated date, will be honored.

  • According to the directives of the Ministry of Transportation, there are no double discounts, and the highest discount is the valid discount.
  • Passengers who use the tickets in all kinds of special travel arrangements are subject to the special conditions of use of such arrangements.
  • The terms of charging for travel via payment apps are determined by the app operators, in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Transportation 
  • Train fares and all types of discounts given on fares are all determined by the provisions of the law and the Ministry of Transportation, and are not at the discretion of Israel Railways.
