“Direct Accumulated Value” Pilot Program
Direct passage through the control gates at the train station, using the accumulated value, by means of a Rav Kav card
Under the directives of the Ministry of Transport, commencing on March 4, 2021, a new service, “Direct Accumulated Value”, will be launched for a pilot program period.
The new service will be tested in parallel with the continued normal use of accumulated value.
The "Direct Accumulated Value" service allows you to pass directly through the control gates at the train station, to validate the accumulated value on the Rav Kav card, and to take the trip without standing in line!
How will the new process work?
- To use the “Direct Accumulated Value” service, you must validate the Rav Kav card at the control gate, just like any other use of the Rav Kav card: Both before the trip, at the entrance to the departure station and at the end of the trip, at the exit from the destination station.
The use of the “Direct Accumulated Value” service is conditional upon a monetary balance in the accumulated value folder on the Rav Kav card, which will be sufficient to pay the full fare for the trip you have chosen.
It is your responsibility to make sure you have a sufficient monetary balance in the accumulated value folder. Take note: Riding the train without a sufficient monetary balance – is the equivalent of riding the train without a suitable ticket!
- Any use of the “Direct Accumulated Value” service, for any trip, is conditional upon a minimum monetary balance of 30 units (NIS 30) in the accumulated value folder.
- The use of the “Direct Accumulated Value” service is only permitted for one passenger.
- The “Direct Accumulated Value” service will be tested during the pilot program period, in addition to the regular service.
- Please note: The “Direct Accumulated Value” service is not intended for passengers who have both accumulated value as well as any periodic travel ticket on their Rav Kav card.
Important to know !
Using the travel ticket
Passage through the control gates of the station is possible only with a valid travel ticket.
Temporarily exiting the station is not allowed.
Exiting at an intermediate station will be considered as completing your journey in full. Passengers are required to pass through the control gates only at the station of origin and destination stipulated on the travel ticket. Holders of Flexible 30 and Flexible 7 tickets are allowed to enter and exit without limitation at the intermediate stations as well.
Please have your travel ticket ready before boarding the train and make sure you have the correct ticket for your journey. Israel Railways carries out strict enforcement of travel ticket payments, and our enforcement teams are authorized to carry out ticket control and collect the travel fee plus a penalty charge of double the travel fee, from passengers who do not hold a valid travel ticket.
